Schwinn S-1000

Description

The Schwinn S-1000 is made by Currie Technologies (Purchased by another company early 2008). It’s a full suspension, 36 Volt Electric Scooter introduced in 2006. At 1000 watts, it is tied for the most powerful 36 Volt Schwinn Scooter. Schwinn has equipped the Schwinn S-1000 with a Power Gauge, Front & Rear Disc brakes (some years have front v-brake and rear disc brake), a 36 Volt Battery pack & a Quick Release Deck for optional battery pack swapping. The suspension is has 50mm of travel on the front fork and a rear mono spring with 90mm travel. The Knobby 12” tires (triagular tread on some versions), sitting on Mag Wheels allows it to glide over a every surface imaginable. A blast to ride off road through mud and dust yet at the end of the day, you can still cruise down the street. (It is not recommended to ever ride an electric scooter through mud. Even the S-1000.) Charger included. Don’t ever worry about braking another spoke! These wheels are bullet proof! (Do not use firearms on your scooter)

Features

  • Twist throttle with 3 lights to show battery charge remaining.
  • Diagnostic mode for testing throttle. (Enabled by holding down throttle and turning on the scooter. Lights blink, then follow the throttle’s movement.)

  • As implied by the name, the Stealth 1000 is quieter than the usual, somewhat noisy operation of other Schwinn scooters, but is not what one would consider “stealthy”, unless going at low speeds (around 3 mph).

Common Features NOT included

  • There is no On/Off light except the battery charge readout on the throttle.

Common issues

  • Disc brake may not be properly aligned when purchased. If brake disc is hot after using scooter, but not using brake, have it adjusted.
  • Many consumers have reported different components of the RWA (rear wheel assembly) failing on their Stealth 1000’s. The RWA consists of the motor, gearbox (not chain driven), and wheel itself, which come together as one piece and not separately replaceable. Customers with this part failed who are out of warranty or without an extended warranty have had to pay as little as 150 dollars to replace just this part.

  • Range: Up to 12-15 Miles.
  • Battery Pack: 36 volts. (Three 12V batteries in a satchel), 10 Amp Hours(30AH), Sealed Lead Acid
