You might want to check your ignition switch as well. Though I haven't had the problems with starting you have had, my thought is that the ignition switch is going to provide the magneto coils with the necessary current/voltage to create the charging circuit. Personally, I think they should provide a detailed schematic for the electrical, as well as a comprehensive manual.
