Anybody have this problem?
I recently bought the Lance Vintage 150 off a craigslist guy for $700 which looked like a good deal but the catch was it sputters when it gets to 35 mph. I figured I could clean the carb and everything would be good.
Well, I've taken the carb completely off and it looks fine. The jets aren't clogged. I've taken the vacuum fuel pump off and put it back together and it seems fine. The spark plug has quite a bit of carbon on it but there really is no way to change the mixture, seems that its pre-conditioned. The fuel filter has been changed recently and the bike has about 4,000 miles on it.
The symptoms:
Once I hit 35 mph on a steady throttle it starts to lurch back, and looses power for a brief second then comes back on and repeats.
If you really get on it from the start it will bog down and repeat.
The bike idles well and has a strong pick up at low speeds.
I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
Thanks.
