Hi All, me too,
I'm also wondering how to get more performance (speed) from my United Motors Matrix II-150: it seems to have a governor at 51 mph, even if I tuck down there is no difference. Is there any reason I can't change to full synthetic oils in the crankcase and gearbox? MY choice would be RedLine oils. It seems to me the engine/gearbox would mechanically last forever and I might get 1 more MPH and perhaps a little better mileage (now around 85 mpg). Also, as Bama said a windshield would be nice to have here in Seattle.
Help! Where do I get parts?
I bought it used for a good price because it's rear brake master cylinder packed up ... and let me tell all, riding in the Seattle rain this summer with only a front brake has been spooky.
I Googled United Motors and my scooter appears to be a 'badge-engineered' VENTO and also a ROKETA TAHITI 150 --- and there are literally dozens, perhaps hundreds of complaints about the Roketa version. My UM has been absolutely dependible for the 500+ miles I have riden it ... except for the rear brake issue.
Thanks in advance, Jim In Seattle
PS I found a 'Cousin' scooter today within 2 miles of me, but it has almost no identification on it except for a VIN plate. It was made by "Unique Industrial & Trading Company for Goldenvale Incorporated" ... No question that aside from a few cosmetic differences it is the same machine. I Googled that name and hit the jackpot regarding 'badge-engineered' scooters. I have yet to follow up on the names: Powermax, Plazela, Concept A1, X Speed, Runniest, Boss, Arrow, Falcon, Movicity, llborro, and Ovni.
