Hello, newbie here... kind of ignorant to the ways of the forum, and I'm sure I should LURK MOAR! But I have a question for you guys...

I'm currently 19 and looking into purchasing an electric scooter. I've been looking online and I went to pepboys and saw this little beauty: I have no idea if it's any good or not, but I love the style and I'm thinking I can maybe put like a sidecar or something on it for my 50 LB dog so he can ride alongside me.
I'll mainly be using it to travel to and from work, which is about 15 minutes away from me in the car (I can't afford a car, so I'm relying on my mom) and about 6.6 miles away according to mapquest. Now, I may be transferring stores for a month (it will be about 14.38 miles away from me according to mapquest).
So I'm looking for the best bang for my buck essentially...a way to get to and from work without relying on my parents all of the time. I'd prefer not to break the bank either but would also like some storage space. The dog thing isn't necessary, but it would be nice (I probably sound like an idiot, *headdesk*). So, in your opinion, what would be the best option for me as far as scooters? It doesn't have to be completely electric either, and also what can I expect as far as a price range?
