Angry Lance Charming 50 Review

I purchased a Lance Charming 50 in june 08,the scooter was shipped with a "bent"frame from lance via hotscooterdeals.com ..when i e mailed hotscooterdeals about the frame they said they would get back to me,never did.
yesterday, after only 940 miles i was riding under "normal usage" and "clunck" the engine stopped, spark plug is "hammered"in 2 pieces,my mechanic says the scooter thru a rod and is internally"wasted",the timing was never set right from the factory originally.
when i contacted LANCE with vin# and title#,they told me that they have nothing to do with it(warranty),to contact hotscooterdeals.com,the people who took my money, who are happen to no longer be a LANCE dealer.
hotscooterdeals have not as of yet returned my e mails,LANCE also says that there "system is down" and they will get back to me....and they still have not.
I work in the service industry(bicycles) and have never seen or heard of such bad customer service and lack of 'OWNING UP" in my life, this is $1200.00 scooter!!how can companies stay in business when they "lie"about their warranty and do not stand behind there products 100%,Lance and hotscooterdeals?
i e mailed the contact person responding to this forum for LANCE,Lisa,to no avail....on vacation??or realized working for a company who does not stand by there products is futile, maybe and gave up?
anyway, makes a great $1200 paperweight at the moment....

Default Lance warranty

My friend, I went through similar ordeal...the dealer is no longer in business, Lisa was of no help at all...Lance Charmin had done nothing either. I had problems right after 100 miles in a brand new Lance scooter. I KNOW YOUR PAIN.!!

Default Nearly 3000 Miles and still runs great

We bought a Lance from the Downtown Scooters in Albuquerque last fall and have put on nearly 3000 miles since then. The only problem we have had was just this week when it suddenly got real loud near the engine because the exhaust came loose. (We suspect the new speed bumps at our apartments that are too high might have caused damage) We have an appointment this week and estimated cost of repair will be less than $50 even if parts are needed. Downtown Scooters is very good about being able to provide good service on Charmings at a very reasonable price so we are happy to have a local dealer with a good reputation. We see Charmings all over Albuquerque so they have a vested interest in doing good service.

Angry jeep 125 go cart

We purchased a go cart from hotscooterdeals.com in January of 2010 and have had nothing but trouble with this go cart. If you buy one, restassured that what you see in the picture WILL NOT be what you receive. We received ours with a bent frame. When contacted, hotscooterdeals.com stated they would file a claim with their carrier. To straighten the frame, it cost us an even $200 and that was done as an after hours deal. We were told that the carrier had a check for us for $150. We told hotscooterdeals.com to send the check back as it was not enough. We later found out that a claim was filed for $200 by hotscooterdeals.com and was paid by the carrier. The details claim that there is a 3 speed transmission with reverse-it has foward, netural and reverse. The details claim that there are signal lights-none found. The rear view mirrows had no place to mount them. The details claim that it has adjustable seats-only ONE seat will adjust not SEATS. The bearings in the rear axle lasted for four (4) months and had to be replaced. The bolts holding the exhaust on the motor fell out after two (2) months. We had to improvise a battery holddown strap as there was not one sent and hotscooterdeals.com waas going to send a strap-still waiting for that package.
We asked for the repair cost and for a discounted price because of the damage. It's a good thing that I didn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. The 125cc 9.5 hp engine WILL NOT pull a slight grade with a 17 year old driver that weights 145#. The atv mechanic said it was just a poor motor.
