Thumbs down Charming might be ok... but

The Lance Charming 50 might be a cute bike, but what's most important to me is the ability to get support after the purchase. With Lance, you can buy online or thru a dealer, but either way I have heard horror stories.

Once you decide to make the scooter purchase, you hope for the happiest ending. For good times and memories. My daughter purchased the Lance Milan and loved it, as a father who tinkers with power sport vehicles, I was happy she could join me on two wheels.

We read about online Chinese scooter dealers, and decided to NOT to go with anonymous companies. I read several reviews and blogs about the inability to purchase parts, or even get support. I figured I could take on any mechanical problem, and the warranty would cover the rest.

After purchasing from a local dealer, I felt pretty confident my daughter would love two wheels, and we could go rallying together. The first month, we had issues with the engine. The dealer tried to fix the problem, but had a very very hard time getting parts, support, from Lance. What is the deal? How can you sell a product with "warranty" and not come thru? I took matters into my own hands, tried calling Lance. Not only did they transfer me from one person to another, I could not get anyone to talk to me about my issue, and couldn't get the parts when I was still "under warranty". Heck I almost drove down there I was so furious.

Overall the support was the biggest issue. Such a big company should care for the customers first and foremost. I should at least be able to reach a support or customer care person. My last resort now is just to warn others from having to go thru this ordeal. The experience has taught me just not to buy a second scooter from Lance.

Red face Lance Charming 50

My husband bought me a Lance Charming 50 a week ago, we have a dealer here who is awesome. He made sure it was perfect when I picked it up, and I have been ecstatic about the scooter and its performance. Maybe the problem lies in not buying thru a licensed dealer?

Lightbulb How about an Update?

I week of trouble free operation is hardly definitive.

Any updates after a season of ridership?
