After 3 months and 1000 miles, I am very satisfied with my Lance Milan 150. So far so good. I am a novice when it comes to scooters, so I have no past experience to use as a benchmark.
I normally drive paved roads with speeds between 30 and 45 MPH. I filled up over the weekend after going 210 miles. I pumped 1.91 gallons of premium gasoline. That - my friends - is over 100 MPG

I purchased from ScooterNitro in Missouri. I Thought their C/S knowledge very poor but they had the best price I found on the WWW. They tried to bs me on several issues . I am hoping to find a good mechanic for knowledge of the scooter. I paid extra to have the scooter totally checked out and assembled (with the exception of the mirrors and the rear mount(?))

I have had it past 55 MPH just one time and brought it back down to 45. I think it is not too stable at the rear wheel. I packed a 40lb sack salt on the rear and suddenly the scooter was hard to steer and control.

Thumbs up Lance Milan Review

I got my Lance Milan 150 a couple of months ago. I'm new to scooters, but I think it's a great scooter at a great value. I'm noticing that Lance Powersports online is showing more and more dealerships across the country map they have posted. I got mine online, and it came delivered to my doorstep, in perfect condition. I just had to take the metal cage off and install the rear view mirrors and back trunk, which was no problem. It comes with about 4 miles on the odometer because they connect the battery for you, test lights and test ride it and deliver it with a checklist -- I was impressed. I highly recommend it for value and style, power and handling. I like the big lights and indicators for safety. I have about 200 miles on it so far, and got over 80 mpg. You need to break it in at low speeds, but it looks like its got plenty of power (and is spec'd) to go 55mph. You can get more power if you want to, but to commute to and from work, on residential roads, it's perfect for me -- I'm expecting an average of travel up to 40mph tops. I love riding this scooter, and highly recommend it overall. I've been surprised at all the great comments I've gotten on it.

I got my Lance Milan 150 in April from e-bay. The warranty is non-existent. The lower mounting ear on the exhaust was broken the first week. Then, athou I have been checking bolts and nuts, I lost the exhaust to header nuts. (Everything is metric) After two orders of exhaust gaskets I stil don't have the right one. My engine has 30 mm recess and all the gaskets sold for the engine are 32.7 mm. I ended up reaming out the recess. so I can use the 32,7 mm parts. The hot gases melted the lower engine shrouds that I could not get for several months. I lost the rear axel nut - it supposed to be clinched. The new nut is holding for three month now. The under seat compartment is cracking next to the bolts. The engine is so hot that the valve cover o-ring melts and oil is leaking. I installed 110 jet instead the 108 since the spark plug was white because of the lean mixture. (Yes, the valve clearances ar set to 0.05 mm.) The rubber part of the intake elbow cracked because there is too much freedom to move the entire carburetor-intake assembly. I tied the intake to the frame with tie-wraps. The scooter cannot do more than 53 mph unless I lay down on it. But, it looks great!

Smile Ray from Arnold, MO

I bought a Lance Milan 150cc scooter in May 2008 from a dealer in Fenton, MO - midwestpocketbikes.com - and I enjoy riding it. I have almost 2,000 miles on it and have done all the oil changes at the appropriate time. The only problem I had was the frame that holds the bolts for the muffler broke. I took it back to the dealership and he welded the units on and said I should never have a problem with those again. He did not charge me anything. I would like to get a 250cc or larger but I am enjoying mine and if I don't sell it I will still be happy.

Red face Lance Milan owner

I purchased my Lance Milan where I live in Bakersfield, CA in July of 2008 after researching on the internet. I chose it for style, price and warranty. I have had several issues with it. With less than 200 miles I had a fuel delivery problem that the local dealer couldn't figure out. He replace the carb and I was okay for 2 weeks until I was stranded again and then the fuel pump was replaced. Total, I was without it for almost a month! Then, 2 weeks later I was riding along at 40 mph and there was a loud pop and the spark plug was blown out which required sending the scooter down to the Lance facility in Ontario where they replaced the cylinder head. Another 3 weeks of downtime! I thought I'd give them one more chance before I took the dealer to small claims and asked for a 100% refund. About 1 week later I noticed a change in the suspension and a rattle. Well, two long bolts had come loose and fallen off! At least in this case, the dealer was able to fix it in one day and said he tightened everything he could so it wouldn't happen again. Okay, one more chance. So far, it's working fine, but if something else engine related goes wrong before one year is up, I'm taking them to small claims. I've requested a time extension in my warranty because of the total of 2 months down time. No progress yet. The fork lock mechanism has never worked and the dealer said he'd take care of it, but never has. Apparently I have to really ride him on issues to get things done. I've complained to the Ontario facility (which is almost secretive about their phone number). I didn't see any change in my dealer's service, so I guess Lance isn't so choosy about who they allow to be a dealer.
On a separate note, I have about 1,350 miles on my scooter and average about 74 mpg. It seems to be able to do 50mph continuously, but if I take it up to 55 for more than a short burst, it will soon start to sputter a bit.
I really like the style and have gotten a lot of compliments even though it's not the most masculine thing I could be riding.

I have had some problems with the Lance Milan 150. Latest, all the bolts holding the muffler/exhaust have come off and lost. I've got it wired up with baling wire.

Has anyone had any trouble with "vapor lock" problems? I can run @ 50 mph and then it just loses power and goes to 30-35 mph. After a few seconds, it regains its speed and goes again.

A strange thing happened yesterday. I was driving down the highway and hit a small pothole. The scooter bounced a bit and then really started speed. Suddenly, I was going 60 - which scared me and I let up.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Joe

You probably have a bad fuel pump, the factory fuel pumps are not very reliable. Get a Mikuni DF-44 for $19.95 from motorcycle-superstore and you'll never have a problem with it again! Mine would run around town just fine until I opened up the throttle, once it got over 45 it would sputter and nearly quit. I'd coast back down to 35 and off she's go again. Replaced the vacuum fuel pump and now she's run all day long at 50 plus.
