Mixed review for the Lance Vintage 150 thus far. Yes you really only need to install the front handle bar and battery. However this is no documentation on how to do this. Call text support and they seem to feel it is all self apparent. There should be some documentation on how to hook up the battery etc.

I was informed by my sales rep to not sign for anything yet until i inspect it for any damages and mark it so that scooters factory can file a claims for it and send parts. Next time you should talk to a sales rep as they have more knowledge of what to do should this kind of situation occurs.

I've been on the verge on buying one of these for a while. i like the look of the new Lance Milan 150 so ill probably get that one. as far as parts are concerned, you're going to have to take the initiative to learn about the scooter in order to service it. if you don't have any inclination to do small engine maintenance like cleaning air filters, adjusting idles, or keeping screws tight... you'd be better off buying a better known brand (vespa, honda, yamaha, suzuki, etc.) here in Los Angeles, scooter stores are popping up everywhere so im not that worried. as the cost of gas keeps rising, more and more scooters are showing up on the road.
ive been looking around and it appears as if Scooterfactory is the only importer of lance scooters, and they distribute to the rest of the U.S. as long as you know the name of the part you need and can reference the part number you should be able to get it from them. as far as putting it on yourself... good luck! I'm glad to know I'm supposed to inspect the scooter before signing for it... i thought i had to sign IN ORDER to open the crate! RJ Los Angeles |

Lance Parts are also available at euromopeds.com and we include pre-delivery inspection in which Lance technicians actually take the scooters, prep the battery, start the moped, tighten all bolts, and check electrical wiring before shipping. Hopefully this will lead help to lessen some of the problems people have indicated!

I have driven my Lance Vintage 350 miles so far, and it is great. It gets up to 55 or 60 if I push it, and has not had any problems. My wife rides it to work and she loves it as well. The first crate showed up smashed and I refused it, the next one showed up 2 weeks later and was in perfect condition. An hour or so to put on handlebars mirrors and tighten everything and I was on the road(with no license plate) I am getting about 70 mpg and hope it will get better as I break it in. I park it in the motorcycle parking, surprisingly enough the motorcycle guys are impressed with it.

I got my Lance Vintage 150 and it seemed good for the first 100 miles.
I noticed that if you run it hard it would starve for gas. Then it deveoped a oil leak and the spedo woud jump. I did a little checking and the spedo drive on the front wheel was bad. I took It to a dealer for warantee repair it has been 5 weeks now and KO MOTORS in Akron Ohio claims they havent got parts yet. I talked to Trinnie Lee at Lance and she seemed to be trying to help with my problem. She said she would see that my parts got shipped ASAP In the mean time no scooter! And no estimate as to when it may be done.. I will let everyone know how I make out. The bike is only as good as the gurantee. |

I've had my Lance Milan 150 for over a year drive it everyday and have had no problems. You can find a mechanic in your area that will work on almost anything! People who knock them are probably Vespa dealers afraid of the lower price for the Lance Milan. Vespa thinks they are gods or something! Looks and runs like a Vespa for half the price.

I've had my Lance Vintage for about 400 miles (couple of months) but 2 days ago I noticed this strange "peeeeeeep" noise coming from either the battery, or the engine. I don't hear it while I'm riding the scooter, but when I take off the helmet. Anyone has any idea what can cause the noise? I'm emailed the dealer but no answer yet. Should I ride it back home from work, or grab a cab?

I heard a similar noise and about a week later the transmission belt broke. My Lance Vintage 150 was under warranty and I had it back within 2 days, but you may want to make sure your local mechanic has a belt in.
I love this scooter!! |

I've had my Lance Vintage for several months now and have put on about 700 miles. I purchased it from Family Motorsports on Ebay. It arrived in perfect condition. I installed the handlebars, fueled it up, checked the tire pressures, did a visual inspection of the entire bike and then fired it up. It cranked pretty easy for the first crank. I changed the oil and rear gear oil at 300 miles as explained in the owners manual. I have had zero problems with the scooter to this point. I'm a big guy (250) and it does an easy 45-50. It will do 55-57 maxed out but what's the point? I have averaged 82 mpg in almost 700 miles of riding.
I would say I am satisfied. Sorry to see so many on here who's luck hasn't been as good as mine. Oh, and as far as the trunk goes, I thought it looked really cheesey to have the trunk behind the sissy bar, plus mounting it that way made only about half the trunk sitting on the rack, not good. I sawed the sissy bar off, touched up the bare metal, and that made room to mount the trunk farther forward. Looks much better. I use the scooter to go back and forth to work and for grocery runs. So far so good. Good luck to all. |

I recently bought the Lance Vintage 150 off a craigslist guy for $700 which looked like a good deal but the catch was it sputters when it gets to 35 mph. I figured I could clean the carb and everything would be good.
Well, I've taken the carb completely off and it looks fine. The jets aren't clogged. I've taken the vacuum fuel pump off and put it back together and it seems fine. The spark plug has quite a bit of carbon on it but there really is no way to change the mixture, seems that its pre-conditioned. The fuel filter has been changed recently and the bike has about 4,000 miles on it. The symptoms: Once I hit 35 mph on a steady throttle it starts to lurch back, and looses power for a brief second then comes back on and repeats. If you really get on it from the start it will bog down and repeat. The bike idles well and has a strong pick up at low speeds. I can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Try to adjust the air/fuel mix on the carb. If that doesn't work there a lots of upgrades for the gy6 motor and parts should be readily available. Try buying a performance CDI which will change the power range. Do not buy one that just changes the RPM limiter, change the power curve. Try an MPR product or talk to your local scooter shop.

I purchased a Lance Vintage 150cc from authorized dealer. Was going good for the first 1000 miles, now developed a massive oil leak from the engine (thank god for warranty) and has been in the shop for week now. When I check on it today, they had it in parts and waiting to see if the manufacture would replace the entire engine or just keep trying t figure out where leak is coming from.
I love it, never been on two wheels before. Ride about 20+ miles each date to work and back. I hope the figure out the problem or it's getting traded in on a motorcycle |

Yeah, pretty retarded to buy a scooter online unless you're familiar with working on them.
I paid the extra money to buy mine from a local dealer who introduced me to the mechanics and gave me a maintenance schedule of what to expect while breaking it in. Plus, they provide free roadside assistance if anything does come up. Totally worth the piece of mind. |

Good for you, assholes. You're geniuses. You should get some kind of award, but I suppose you'll have to settle for getting the Dickhead Award here. People come to forums for help - not insulting comments. If you don't have anything HELPFUL....shut the fuck up.
