No longer sold for quality issues?

So I decided to buy a Lance Vintage 150 and started to look around for one. No one seems to have these scooters in stock. I talked to someone at neoscooters.com an advertiser on this website and they no longer carry the scooter due to quality problems. I also tried calling Valley Scooters scootersus.com and they also no longer carry the Lance line due to quality issues. They say they they stopped selling them three months ago and still have customers waiting on parts to fix their bikes.
So what's the deal with these things? Is lance really that bad? Reading through forums it seems like they are the better of the bunch, but after those conversations I don't know. |

Interesting...
I had just bought one a week ago from a guy on craigslist and I can't get it to go over 35 mph. I've tried contacting the dealership in Ontario, Lance Powersports and there number is disconnected and they didn't reply to my email. I guess because they went out of business. I would move on to another brand. If you have issues with a Lance, you wouldn't be able to get it fixed. Good Luck |

As a Lance dealer I can assure you that we are still in business and still providing these high quality scooters. We have had very little trouble out of our Lance brand comparatively. Any bad things that you have heard are most likely coming from dropshippers that are upset that they have to have a real store.

I have a SunL scooter that seems to be a Lance Vintage clone. But I have also found no less than 10 other companies selling the same looking scooter. What is the deal with this? I am needing replacement parts, from where do I get these? I'd also like to buy some chrome guards but can't find any. Anyone know of these accessories for the Lance Vintage?

I received a Lance Vintage as a gift in July of last year. I have never had any problems. It was purchased from a dealership and the sellers stressed the importance of slowly breaking in the engine. I even had the scooter sitting in the garage unused for a good portion of the winter and had little to no problem when I started it up again.

I was one of those that bought online, but had it checked out with a mechanic before driving. I bought the orange one 3 years ago and felt like I was the only Lance owner in San Francisco. Now I see them more often. The snooty Vespa shops won't work on them, but I found a great guy who works on mine. I have had no problems except that I occasionally have to tighten up screws becuz the streets here are sooo bumpy.
