About a year ago, I purchased a Rad2Go Great White scooter. I am an adult and weigh about 200 lbs. The purpose was to ride around the neighborhood and enjoy the outdoors.

My problems began as soon as I ordered the scooter. It took about five weeks to receive, with the online vendor telling me that Rad2Go had problems with shipping it.

When it arrived, it had obviously been dropped. The underside was missing paint and the carton was damaged. However, besides missing paint, it appeared to be in working order.

The instructions are not very good, but within a couple of hours I was able to complete the assembly. However, one problem persisted. The back wheel would not align properly with the chain and the electric motor. Only after moving the motor was I able to get it to align. For all intents and purposes, there is not much of an instruction manual, so it's trial and error.

The claimed 20 or 25 mph speed is really about 15-18 mph. More significantly, the range is only about 5-6 miles. I never felt safe on the scooter, and of course, there are no lights, turn signals, horn, mirrors, etc.

Within a couple of weeks, I noticed that the already uncomfortable ride became intolerable. Apparently, he rear wheel assembly developed flat spots, leading to extreme up and down movements. It was so bad, I had to stop using the scooter. I ordered a new rear assembly, and in 2-3 weeks, it arrived from Rad-2-Go. (I was lucky to find one person to help me after multiple phone calls).

After I replaced the wheel assembly, I thought that the problem was solved. But after a couple of weeks, the same problem returned. By then, I had enough of the scooter and the problems. Because I felt that I could not in good faith sell it to someone, Io decided to give it to a mechanic who thought that he could fix it.

My advice to anyone thinking about purchasing a Rad-2-Go electric scooter is to reconsider. Pay a little more and get a real scooter. The ideas of an electric motor sounds good, but it has a very limited range and top speed. And when the battery discharges, you need to wait hours to ride the scooter again. Also, the batteries are expensive to replace.

More importantly, the product is of poor quality in my opinion, and the service equally bad. It also does not have good safety features.

I decided to buy a Honda Metropolitan scooter and have been very happy with the decision.

Sounds to me like switching to a pneumatic tyre may have solved your problem... I have done a lot of research and believe the rad2go scooters to be the best made scooters around. I'd like the speed of a gas scooter, but don't want the added attention the noise generates. I'm also trying to be more eco friendly these days...

Actually, I own a Great White Rad2Go electric scooter and I am very happy with it. I am a 13 year-old girl and weigh 82 Ibs. If you weigh 93 pounds you can go up to 23 mph. I feel the whole impact of the speed up to 25 mph. I also own a Schwinn 500 electric scooter and am very happy with that as well. I bought the Great White to satisfy my further need for speed.

For being as young as I am I consider myself very educated when it comes to electric scooters. So far the Rad2Go Great White is the fastest scooter with the best quality that I can legally ride without a license. It is also quiet and environmentally friendly unlike those annoying gas scooters.

I consider it better than a moped because I don't need to wait to get a license when I am 14. I also don't have to pay for registration or take any tests. No pedalling and faster than a moped anyways (even with the moped's back-up motor). I wished someone would have told me how good this scooter was in the first place.

P.s. - if you are over 150 Ibs. this scooter probably is'nt for you. Also if your scooter is damaged in ANY way when recieving it new, you can assume further problems. If that is the case send it back for a new one or don't pay until the problem is resolved. It's your money and you should guarantee you get the best. The best price you could probably get the Great White at is $470. Any higher and you paid to much.

I think this man made a terrible mistake with not sending back the scooter in the first place when he saw it damaged. I have a Great White and am very happy with it.

i think i kno why it broke ur and adult that weighs 200 pounds no offence its just that if it can hold my sister and she 18 and weighs 128 pounds and she can ride my great white white then i think there is a little problem with you. maybe you should exercise or if ur just really tall get i bigger scooter and one that can weigh 200 lb. and over no offence even if u take offence to sorry it the truth i am not trying to be mean if this sounds mean its just wat i think.
