Roketa recovered
Hey guys,
I have just acquired a Roketa "Whip" (Ive never seen this model on the web yet which I believe is just a Bermuda with a different paint job) from a police auction for practically free. It has less than 500 miles on it and even the engine looks relatively unused. It's 50 cc's and a four stoke. Here's the catch...it was stolen at one time and whomever did the job had to hot wire it to use it. The ignition switch has been torn out of it and some soldering was done to bypass it. The fiberglass on the front end is missing along with the headlight which has left many wires just hanging. I have gotten the bike to crank yet cant seem to keep it started. I'm looking for a front end as well as advice in some areas. Could you tell me what a CDI does? There is an object on the top of the carburetor that has two wires into it, a green and a yellow wire. The wires as far as I can tell head off to the front of the bike where they are hanging unconnected. Is this vital to starting the bike or keeping it started? The tail light comes on when I crank the starter, although the light switch is in the off position. Is this typical? Is there somewhere that I can obtain a wiring diagram that is legible? I'm sending this e mail to a couple of places in hopes that I get a bite..some one that can help. Thanks ahead of time. Harry Donovan
