When I turn the power switch on my son's Schwinn S-500, the rear wheel drives (run away) and all 3 LED's on the throttle flash.

I can't find a repair manual on line

Any ideas???

From what I have been told, there is a plastic pin in the throttle control handle that breaks. I have a friend who replaced his with a metal pin.
