My 07 Tank Urban Sporty 150 came with front and rear disc with ABS. I believe only the sporty line had the rear disc brake in the Tank line up but I can't be 100% sure of this.
Aloha.

Default Any problems?

I want to get a scooter, but my wife is freaking out because a local scooter shop told her not to buy anything made in China. I want the Tank Urban Sporty. Anybody have or heard of any serious problems with the scooter? How often are repairs needed and how much does the typical repair cost?

I would admit that Chinese built machines are usually less reliable then their european or american, or even japanese counterparts. However, all of these machines are relitively simple and easy to maintain. repairs usually run from $35 to $60 on average and a complete engine overhaul can sometimes caost under $400. Most of the chinese engines are of the Honda style and some are even Honda quality.

My biggest thing is that a Chinese machine is just not as classy as many of the other options out there. I have a Tank Urban Classic that is basically the same machine as just about any other chinese machine and like with the amount of Moped that they are importing to the US these days parts are realitly cheap and easy to obtain. Most of the time alot cheaper and easier to obtain then any others.

Default Legal in CA?

Hi,

There's a Tank Urban Sporty 150 for sale and I'm thinking of buying it. This would be my first ever scooter/motorcycle. I've heard some of the Chinese bikes are not legal in CA, USA. I've searched the net and can't find anything abou this scooter. Does anyone know if this particular scooter is legal in California?

Many Thanks in Advance, Casey

Default Legal in CA? The 2008 Tank Urban Sporty is.

I have a 2008 Tank Urban Sporty 150cc.
It is legal in California..

I love this little scooter. I do recomend those that wish to buy one new go to a brick and morter business to purchase one.

My dealer in Pacific Beach Ca. changed out the most problematic components during the dealer prep (wiring, spark plug, vacuum lines, fuel lines, tires etc.)

It has been trouble free and so much fun!
