I agree on the TNG Baja 150. I'm not a rider at present and have yet to see one "in the flesh", but am eager to take a test ride.
I live in a part of PA that is thankfully still rural. Our roads leave much to be desired in the eyes of my downstate cousins, but I regard then as an acceptable tradeoff to urban sprawl. The Baja struck me as the ideal machine for the riding I have in mind. I've contacted both dealers closest to me and they are trying to locate one. Shame on the Seattle yuppies if they decide to discontinue this model. I know of a bunch of Skoal chewing rednecks who would give this a serious look while they scoff at the classic Euro style scooters. Perhaps if they decide to abandon the rural market someone else will have the sense to step in. Mike |

I agree with you Mike. I can't wait to blow by the hipsters on their Vespas with my Rat Scooter! I have a call into a local dealer here and they are going to see about finding a TNG Baja 150 to test drive. I think I can talk them into ordering one into the shop if I put half down.

Hey guys- I have an '05 TNG Baja 150 and it's awesome. It's tough as nails and is really quick. My girlfriend and I ride it everywhere. TNG never updated their photos of it on their website, though. The new ones have a different seat for the passenger; which is good because the (2) bicycle-seat-style set-up is bad. The passenger seat jams you in the back! I took the front rack off and re-installed it on the front fender. It looks better and it's still functional.

I'd say the gas mileage is North of 50mpg, even with frequent trips topping 55mph. Had my TNG Baja 150 for a year now and I love it. Fast (for a scooter), and it handles well. And for a tall guy, 6'2", it doesn't leave you looking like a fat guy in a little coat. My car still gets the freeway ride to work, but this picks up all the out and about travel. Couldn't recommend it more. No parking problems and no worrying about gas prices. And it's really just a blast to ride, with the 150cc engine. And neither the Harley guys nor the Vesparati are really sure what to make of you.
My shop did guarantee that three things would break in the first year, though. First, the odometer/speedometer is a nutty little computer. It works, it doesn't work, it blinks random numbers, it switches to metric. Eh, whatever. Second, the seat bracket is guaranteed to break and make the back of the driver's seat slump. It's replaceable and under warranty for the first year. And lastly, the weld just before the muffler is supposed to be weak. Mine's still ok, but keeping an eye on it. But, honestly, if these are the biggest issues with my kick-ass cheap Chinese scooter, I'm a happy camper. |

Yep, great scooter. I bought my TNG Baja 150 about three months ago. It's a 2005, but it had been sitting in the showroom for several years. The odometer has freaked out a couple times with wildly inaccurate mileage readings. The right front shock has blown a seal and it leaking fluid onto the brake disc. And the fuel gauge is hardly ever correct. But the dealer is (slowly) getting things fixed. I'm getting about 65 MPG and topped in out at 63 MPH downhill.

Like most I love my TNG Baja 150 BUT..... I have had a few problems with it 1st. my muffler broke off due to a broken motor mount bolt. speedo won't work, but I still love it. now there is a thingamabob loose in the motor compartment. Not good it took 3 months to get the muffler from the dealer who got it from TNG. back order. I like I said I love my baja. I'm 5'9" 220 lbs and I can get it up to 60 mph. milage is like 60 mpg. so are their anyone else with my problems....
